About Breakthrough Healing Arts In April of 2008, three months after their fateful meeting, Kai Van Bodegom-Smith and Irene Caguinguin hatched an idea. Kai had a penchant for the Oriental Healing Arts and a passion for caring for others; Irene was a business artist in need of a subject and a canvas. Together, they built an entity that has taken on a life of its own. Breakthrough Healing Arts was built on the foundation that people are divine creations of their physical presence, their energetic emotions, and their thought patterns. And the space that they built, at first with the humble intention of being both a classroom and treatment space, has truly become a safe haven in which people from all walks of life can come in and express themselves fully, through practice, meditation, treatments and, sometimes, just in community.

About Sage Acupuncture Elaine Ataba has been the proud owner of Sage Acupuncture, formerly known as the One Stop Body Shop, since November 2000. In 2003 Elaine entered the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to pursue a lifelong interest in Chinese philosophy and medicine. She graduated in April 2007 with a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine which qualifies her to treat patients as a Primary Health Care Provider. She incorporates herbal medicine, massage, breathing techniques, aromatherapy and nutritional counseling into her acupuncture practice. The business has evolved in many ways over the past 10 years, but Elaine has always held true to the premise that preventative healthcare and healthy lifestyle changes are the key to a balanced and harmonious way of being. In February 2008, Elaine gave birth to a precious baby boy- Sage Aviv and in November 2009, gave birth to an adorable baby girl- Brook Elah. Elaine enjoys philosophical conversations, walking, jump roping, yoga, painting- when I get the time, reading and a glass of wine after the kids go to bed. |
